Can not believe the year is coming to an end!! It has been a blessed year, God has been good to us! He has seen us through hard times, sickness, good times, all is well!

We are now preparing for the New Year - 2011!!

"Desert Sky" quilt class on Saturday, Jan 15th. We
will help you pick out your fabric and be ready for
the class on Saturday, Jan 15th. You can come by
anytime from 10am until 6pm on Tuesday, Jan 11th
to get your material. You will need a 60mm rotary
cutter. The class on Saturday will be taught by
Lucille Amos a Judy Niemeyer instructor. The cost
is $60 plus supplies and includes LUNCH!! Time is
10am until 4pm The size of the quilt is 48x54. Call

will need 1 1/2 yd of fabric. If the bust or hips are more
than 54" you will need the number of inches that you

Stash and Dash Bag

The Stash and Dash class is coming up this Saturday, October 2nd. Teacher is Patty McKenzie. Time is 10am - 1pm and cost is $25.00. Call and sign up now for this cute bag. Has lots of different uses. You will finish the bag in class. Patty has also made this bag in Batiks. Drops in your purse, good for travel or just to carry a small bag.

Cover Stitch Class

On Friday, we held a Cover Stitch Class for our newer serger owners. Sixteen ladies walked thru our door toting their sergers in anticipation of learning something new. We learned to properly set up our serger, insert the needles, thread those needles, flip the correct knobs, and turn the dials to all the right places. The next thing you know, we were were cover stitching our way to a beautiful new totebag. Teresa, Rebecca, Wannitta and Sue were all there to help us when we got into a jam and helped get us back on our way to serging a master piece.

We will be hearing from Husqvarna Viking's Software Stars to help explain the software's exciting new features such as forming your designs on a photo of your project for perfect placement and how to create perfect multi-color gardients.

They will also be answering questions you might have for going from 4D to 5D software!

This will be great for all you who have just bought 5D software!!

Another special class coming up is Saturday, Nov. 13th - 10am - 4pm - Applique Magic with Anne Tedrow. This is a beginner class and a pre-requesit for a future class in January. Anne has perfected Applique with her new method. Cost for this class is $40.00

Update for the Week of August 30th, 2010

Girls and Guys,

I'm back!! Was not on vacation just moved to another job for a week. The Dixie Classic Fair had a judging that had to be down early and I have been involved with it for 20 + years and enjoy doing it. But back to earth and Sewingly Yours.

What a wonderful event with Sue Hausmann !! We had about 120 girls and guys here to enjoy the day. You could get your picture taken with Sue. We have a few of you that didn't pick up your picture. We have them here in the store, so come on in and pick them up. If you wanted any product from the show, we will have it available through tomorrow, Monday, August 30th. Our hours tomorrow are 10am - 8pm, just give us a call or drop by. The machines will be on sale through Friday, September 3rd. We have 12 months and 18 months financing with no interest!!

Thank each and everyone of you that attended the Sue Hausmann Event!! I hope you had a great time!! We enjoy setting these events up for you all.

Monday, August 30th - Serger Club - 10am or 6pm Bring your serger, 4 spools
of white or beige thread. You will be making a thread catcher. If you have
any material that you would like to use, you will need 1/2 yard plus 1 fat
quarter. Anything else that you will need, we have here at the store.

Day and Night Quilt continues at 10am or 6pm

Tuesday, August 31st - Beginning Quilting and Professional Tote continue
at 6pm.

Wednesday, September 1st - Debra Bohn will be teaching on the 4D software
lettering, monograms and fonts. Learn how to make quilt labels, and use
different line shapes and lettering. 10am - 12pm, 5:30pm - 7:30pm.

Thursday, and Friday, Sept. 2nd and 3rd - Sit 'N Sew

Saturday, Sept. 4th - DuctTape Double - 10am - 1pm Taught by Sally Baker
and Rebecca Allen. Cost is $50 You can go to Wal Mart and get your
DuctTape - You can pick from all colors - Get at least 4 or 5 rolls, if you
have too much you can take it back. Yes, we mean DUCT tape. Learn
the right way to wrap duct tape on your body to make a dress form. Just
think - you will be able to fit a pattern to your body! This class is a hoot
for everybody! We have taken this class and it really works! You will
need an old T-shirt that is long on you to get taped in. Call and sign up
for this fun class!!

Cathy is going to help you embroider tile scenes from Dakota and Anita Goodesign. The Village Tile Scene or the Nacitivity Tile Scene from Dakota will be the ones we will be working on. If you don't have either one of these designs and would like to have one please call us so we can place your order ASAP!

Don't forget to sign up for Debra's Stitch Editor class Sept 1/Wed. Some of you have already paid in advance for this class so this is just a reminder to call us and sign up. We need a head count for both classes.

All of you that took the Perfect Fit class wanted this class so here it is!!!
If you want to sew garments and can't fit yourself come to this class and make a double of yourself! This is great. I took this class and my double fits me perfectly which is scary.

Mid Carolina Shop Hop

It's a SHOP HOP! June 22 - 26 2010 Eleven shops are participating in opening their doors, staying late, giving door prizes, stamping passports of all people joining us on a Mid Carolina Shop Hop. You will have a chance to win $1100 in shop gift certificates. You will see the Mystery Quilt each shop put together in their shops. You can even buy the quilt kit from any of the shops.
